#FridayFavorite: In which I celebrate one of my favorite books on a Friday.
Charm & Strange is wonderfully strange and beautifully disorienting. When you finish this book, you won’t put it on the side table and saunter off to do the dishes or complete some other menial life task. You’ll think about what you’ve read. You’ll go over it in your head. You’ll lay the book on your chest and stare at the ceiling. That’s the kind of book this is. It keeps readers guessing until the end. You think you know where you’re going, but you don’t. And when you get there, you don’t feel cheated or rushed. You just feel emotionally overwhelmed in the way books are meant to overwhelm you.
